Flexible packaging is a means of packaging products through the use of non-rigid and customizable materials. This is a relatively new method in the packaging market and has gained popularity due to its high efficiency and cost savings. Flexible packaging is particularly useful in industries that require flexible packagings, such as the food and beverage, personal care, and pharmaceutical industries.

1. Retort bags

Films/Bags for processed products cooked at high temperatures or in the microwave. At the temperature of the distillation, the bag does not shrink, does not smell, does not crackle

Structure

  • Transparent: BOPA/R-CPP; PET/R-CPP; PET/BOPA/CPP, BOPA/PVDC/CPP
  • Aluminum: PET/AL/CPP; PA/AL/CPP; PET/PA/AL/CPP

Properties

  • PET: High-Temperature end-use, stiffness, printability, good physical properties
  • AL: The best barrier and heat resistance film
  • CPP: good sealability, good moisture barrier, and oil resistance. Using R-CPP for excellent heat endurance
  • PVDC: the good heat barrier film

Transparent film for the normal steam product; Aluminium for a superb steamy product.

2. Snack packaging

Requirement: Good oxygen, oil, moisture, aroma, light barrier, high stiffness, low-cost

Structure: BOPP/VMCPP; OPP/Extr-PE/MPET/CPP, PET/Extru-PE/MPET/PE

Properties:

  • BOPP and VMCPP scratch resistance, OPP good printability, high transparency. VMCPP has a high barrier. Extr-PE to protect the sharpness of color for a long period of time and lower cost.
  • Using PE Sealing layer with low sealing temperature and antistatic.

3. Powdered packaging

Structure:  BOPP/VMPET/S-PE

Properties:

  • BOPP good printability, high gloss, good physical properties,
  • VMPET has a high barrier, anti-UV, If want to increase the Aluminium effect, we could use C-VMPET.
  • Using PE Sealing layer with low sealing temperature and antistatic.

4.Tea leaf packaging

Structure: BOPP/AL/PE; BOPP/VMPET/PE; KPET/PE

Properties:

  • AL, VMPET, KPET have high barriers, oxygen moisture, aroma barrier.

5. Oil-related bag

Structure: PET/PA/PE, PET/PE, PE/EVA/PVDC/EVA/PE, PE/PEPE.

Properties: 

  • PA, PET, PVDC:  resistant to oil and grease, with high barrier capacity.
  • PA, PET, PE: High strength 
  • The glued PE layer uses the type that is resistant to contamination, sealing

6. Confectionary packaging

Requirement: seal at low temperature and could anti-UV light

Structure:

  • Matt/Ink/BOPP white/PVDC/ cold seal
  • Matt/Ink/VMPET/AD/BOPP/PVDC/ cold seal

Properties:

  • PVDC, VMPET are materials that have a high barrier. 
  • Cold Seal could assist in sealing at low temperatures without affecting the quality of chocolate. 
  • Because Chocolate or Nuts contain oil, they could easily be oxidized. 
  • As such, PVDC is used against oxidization

7. Detergent packaging

Structure: 

  • Stand up bag: BOPA/LLDPE , bottom: BOPA/LLDPE
  • Stand up bag: BOPA/enhanced BOPP/LLDPE, bottom: BOPA/LLDPE
  • Stand up bag: PET/BOPA/enhanced BOPP/LLDPE, bottom: BOPA/LLDPE

Properties:

  • PET increases mechanical and water resistance. The bottom uses a flexible film for easy machining

8. Sterilized easy-peel lid

Structure: Coating/AL/MDPE/LDPE/EVA/PET

Properties: 

  • PET as a sterile protective film.
  • When the customer drinks water, the AL layer will be torn off. AL with high barrier
  • MDPE has a hardness, can be glued with good AL.
  • Low-cost LDPE, EVA with 7% VA can be soldered at low temperatures.

9. Chemical product packaging

Structure: BOPA/VMPET/S-CPP

Properties: S-CPP solder paste, can resist corrosion, use terpolymer PP, or multilayer CPP film with EVOH, PA.
